PROSTITUTES
PROSTITUTES
Usually get the word bitch, whore or prostitute
as an insult, to say something to offend.
But what does actually the word PROSTITUTE?

In Greece, as in many parts,
things weren't favorable for women
in the economic, the legal and of course,
the access to culture ...
But for one small group doesn't: Hetera o hetaira (in Greek ἑταίρα),
they were the courtesans (partners of men).
That women were a major intellectual form,
with refined manners, not as common prostitutes,
which also exist with the name pornai,
but prostitutes in the end, they had more access,
thanks to its influences and its select clientele,
than other women, including wives of men.

They had access to culture,
the great pomp and celebrations for only men
who could be at parties and coteries prohibited all others
and became as essential for those who could afford to take them as lovers,
the most powerful men,
that isn't a secret that had much to do,
directly and indirectly,
with the decisions that marked the course of history.
They were economically independent, the only of its time and,
if they could protect someone important,
their power was immeasurable.

The most famous courtesans were Phryne, Thargelia, Aspasia.
They drive crazy to politicians, philosophers...
Alexander included.

Right now you know...
When you say "bitch" or "prostitute"
i don't receive one insult,
i receive the Alexander's visit
to enjoy the "art of love" .
Many Kisses,
